We're always looking for ways to make our #shiny apps more responsive. And it always comes down how to store and query data.
We've given @tiledb a run and the results are very promising

A quick thank you to the @nytimes data team for maintaining a data repo I have used daily for 15 months to look at and visualize data for my county. Now below 100 new cases (and 200 on a 7-day avg) for the 1st time since March of last year--and IL reopens fully this week.

Concurrent multi-user editing of markdown docs with revisions, graphics, ... under copyleft license and containers to self-host. Looks like a lot to like in @HedgeDocOrg at hedgedoc.org/
H/t to @troy_phd for a pointer to this hackmd alternative
If you find the UNC Board of Trustees’ decision to deny @nhannahjones tenure as abhorrent as I do, consider supporting Nikole by preordering a copy of the 1619 book, which comes out this fall. It’s an expanded and enhanced version of the magazine issue.
