The Rust project uses a combination of Discord and Zulip. And I have to say that I prefer Discord for general discussion, and Zulip for recorded discussion. Both are horrid and strictly worse than a combination of IRC and mailing lists IMO :( I'm too old for this new stuff :/

Hmm interesting idea. I might take a drive later and see if I can find out
No mention of nuclear pigeons. No lasering of puny humans. If it's AB, they're being very stealthy :-D

Making kimchi is great fun and can be easily scaled up and down. But you do need 고좔가루 to make it. In terms of pastes, doenjang and gochujang are the only ones you really need. I need to see if any of the supermarkets selling the pastes are still open, no luck at tesco :(

That looks delicious! Well done. Kimchi fried rice is pretty easy if you have kimchi. Also if you have the pastes, any brothy soup can be made koreanish with ease :) I like to chuck an onion, some leek, garlic, and chopped cabbage in a pot with water and korean pastes. nomnom

Yeah if only all that awful COBOL code had been rewritten in a nice modern language like ADA we wouldn't have these problems

Why would they want to do that? This way they have *two* scapegoats for when everything turns out to be lies and awfulness -- they can blame COVID-19 *and* they will blame the EU. Heck, with the ventilator madness recently they're blaming the EU for the COVID-19 mess.

This in particular, but also the whole thread.

I had a nontech friend the other day say that they were scared to message their family members because of all the news on how insecure Zoom was. This is what we've done. We are a formal industry, we are a group of folks the world listens to. 7/10

This is certainly very heartening.
Kudos to @zoom_us: blog.zoom.us/wordpress/2020/… In *one* day: βœ… "Released a fix for the UNC link issue" βœ… "Released fixes for both Mac-related issues" Promise to: βœ… Engage in pen-tests βœ… Improve bug bounty program βœ… Enact feature freeze to focus on safety/privacy issues πŸ˜‡βœŒοΈ

Many people I know are standing up their own jitsi installations on the basis that at least it's a 'devil you know' but I doubt it'd do as well or as much as zoom sadly :(

I'd note that I accept Zoom is often the only solution which *works* for people, but my goodness me it has shown to not have done a good job of sorting itself out after last year's security scares.

daily? Christ! I manage 2 a week and my watch shouts at me for overreaching. I'm going to deliberately slow mine down today and add some intervals to see how that goes.

I am very *very* pleased that your recovery is going so well. And terrified for what that means for our April group run challenge :D
