Interestingly, Markdown has always worked for me, but I came to it as "Woah this is essentially formalised how I always wrote text documents in the past". I can see the parallels though. It's one of the things I adore about Rust - mandatory use of braces on `if` etc.

My typical response, when I can't hold it in, is to say "Whitespace is just braces you can't see"

My nephew came from a domestic violence situation. He watched Ninja because Ninja's behaviour reflected the behaviour of his abusive father, which was normal for him. Think on that for a while.

pro(er)tip: `git reset -p` can be used to selectively *unstage* parts of your commit.

You have an interesting situation, and without poking at it myself I'd find it hard to make any other suggestions.

And yet `git log abc` doesn't show HASH -- hrm, is HASH in the history of your current tree?

`git show $HASH` -- does that show the abc delta? If not, then you're seeing something either on another leg of a merge, or else you're misreading the log -p output. I'd guess.

I watched @Ellpeck do a bit of his Nature's Aura porting, and it seemed like an awful lot of it was mechanical. I'm surprised IntelliJ or similar doesn't have refactoring tools to make this easier.

The crud I get sent through about the various free software projects I host websites for is hilarious. Spammers are so crap sometimes.
