Sometimes ethernet links require you to authenticate, if yours does then it might be as unlikely to work as any other. Have you tried a PC?

I don't remember. If I unplug it and plug it back in, woulld I have to re-authenticate? Like.. is it a way to test this? lol

Umm, that would depend on the software you run. I wouldn't expect it to need you to type stuff in again.
