I seem to get "out of memory" on macOS Sierra all the time and I have no idea why. Didn't get this on earlier releases.

16GB! My old laptop had 8GB and the previous OS release and never had this.

The weirder thing is I can usually "Resume" all the applications it paused and it's fine.
