@shevski @frabcus I am confused. Email is already decentralised and encryptable. I suppose some usability innovation could be good though.

@dsilverstone @shevski not the meta data. Or anti spam. Basically all email ends up in Gmail servers unencrypted.
1
@frabcus @shevski Hrm, metadata you have a point -- as for 'it all ends up in gmail' well, I suppose that means git needs decentralising too
1
@dsilverstone @shevski yes, git does! at a basic level issue tracking, more broadly the transport. e.g. github.com/gitchain/gitchain
1
@frabcus @shevski I'm definitely interested in anything to prevent the mass "well no work today" every time github goes down.
1
@dsilverstone @shevski alas gitchain was abandoned. Maybe something else will arise!
2
@frabcus @dsilverstone @shevski gitchain might get revived later this year.

Replying to @frabcus
@frabcus It's an unconference, and in "that there London" so I'm unlikely to attend. Sorry.

@dsilverstone Manchester would be a good place for one! Format will be clearer when we know more what people need
