@fanf Surely all these tools use "--" to indicate end of options explicitly so this can be safe. If you can't trust the glob, use "--"

@fanf Shell globs are hard, but I'm not sure "fixing" them with ./ would help stop people being confused. Just move confusion elsewhere.
