@dsilverstone @rjek Although if you have an equal number of drives again (have 3, adding 3) you can just add another vdev to the pool

@jogbert @rjek No, but btrfs is utterly utterly pants anyway :-) (Well, btrfs *can* add arbitrarily but it can't do raid5/6)

@jogbert @rjek I'm fairly sure that there are HW raid systems which can rebalance on the fly. If they can't then I need to fix them :-)
