I'm going to regret asking this... But if you were to acquire a single 1980s-ish CP/M 2.2 (capable) system that was *reasonably* compact, what would it be?

The last CP/M computer I had was a Grundy Newbrain, which I belive would fit the bill - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grundy… Some of them even had a VFD on the computer giving you an extra bit of display

The NewBrain looks like a ROM switch for CP/M. It interests me, but I worry that would become a project in itself, rather than a platform. I may look at one as a separate project.
