Did you see the prototype before, or is it similar enough to the final Creatures 1 game's graphics that it still evokes the memories?

Remember I'm aphantasic so what I *think* I see and what I see might be different :D But for me, the lighthouse, the elevators, and the underground tunnel all kinda said "yes, that, that's Creatures"

Yes! And that feel is what I'm asking. So interesting, as the graphics were redone before the final version - the impression of the same is in them, or perhaps simply the impression of being a Creatures game!

I guess in my head I also expect the C1 graphics to not be as shiny as C2/C3... and so it evokes an additional layer of nostalgia. Plus I vaguely remember seeing a tank with a model in (was that photographed for the final map artwork?)

If I'm remembering right, the model is in the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge now @computermuseum

That's the one! Playing Creatures with a game controller seems and odd thing to do though, if that is what is happening below! Typing is fairly important. Was there a version with a game controller UI?

Yes, it's the PlayStation version we usually have running in the display below :)
