Are there folks in the @rustlang world that would be interested in a rust-native requirement management tool like this? It would certainly make our life easier with @ferrocene_rs, and I'm tired of req management tools being: * expensive * bad * not open source * archaic

Yes. Including things like requirement traceability reports, CI generated progress reports, issue generation of required re-reviews, user interface for following requirements up/down, requirement test coverage, and cryptographic signing of reviews.

A while ago myself and my colleagues came up with a tool which used YAML files to track and link requirements, architectural overview and low-granularity work items. Sadly none of our clients liked it (not Enterprise enough) but the prototypes are here - gitlab.com/trustable/mustard

Subsequent to that we started to design a mechanism for having federated structured data in YAML in git repos, called Consonant github.com/CodethinkLabs/con… but again, none of our clients actually wanted us to use non-industry-standard tools. If any of that is of use, please take it.
