And I bet, after a while with Go, it hurt to get it there :D The learning 'curve' with Rust can be a tad sharp.

This is my third time giving Rust a go. I still don't fully understand why I had to do some of the things I had to do. Some of it didn't feel very elegant. I still rather like Go, fwiw. For the things I'm usually working on it fits right with me.

Yeah, I can understand that. Go's management of memory makes it a lot easier to grok things which Rust often requires you make explicit. If you have any specific questions or want to have a chat to grok any Rust, let me know, I'm happy to help.

Actually if you don't mind maybe I can send you this code for a review?

You're welcome to, though given it's a weekend I can't guarantee how well I'll review it :D

Hah, no problem. It's a really small program anyway.

As I say, I'm happy to take a crack at it, at whatever level of nitpick you want :D

You're welcome to go Full Daniel ;-) But really, it's hard to learn a language without good feedback.
