The Rust project uses a combination of Discord and Zulip. And I have to say that I prefer Discord for general discussion, and Zulip for recorded discussion. Both are horrid and strictly worse than a combination of IRC and mailing lists IMO :( I'm too old for this new stuff :/

I prefer IRC as well. I really don't like zulip and discord is "ok". Old times... Am I too old for new things too? :o
