I have loved for a long time both ChromeOS as a laptop operating system, and Chromebook as a laptop hardware platform, but always had reason to keep something else around. Discovered it can do USB serial without an extension... Very happy now!

Compared to the MacBook Pro I had for work 2017-2019 the keyboard is amazing. I still have a desktop Linux machine, but for a laptop, I don't think I've ever had a "bad" Chromebook keyboard. YMMV?

I've never had a chromebook which didn't make my fingers hurt. Ditto macbooks though, so that comparison is basically worthless to me :D I guess that they might be better than a mac, but I've never used either long enough to know if the how the levels of pain and horror relate.

I don't use it as a primary machine so not really a consideration. But very valid for those that do!

My laptop is my primary machine, so much so that my desktop (gaming machine) has a USB keyboard which matches my laptop so that my finger memory doesn't get broken :D
