I wonder if I put together a government petition to ban headphones which leak sound above a certain level on public transport, if it would get much traction.

Of course that would include all of Apple’s earbuds. Wouldn’t that be a shame.

No need to ban them, simply make it legally required to remove such devices from people's heads and smash them until they cease making noise -- Ditto for people who sodcast from their phones.
