Some people are instant-feedback junkies. If they don't get the info they want, they leave again immediately. I see this on IRC channels, Discord servers, even mailing lists. It's crazy.
If your marketing dept. or whatever determines that these things are of value to some, then I understand having them, but for goodness sake allow those of us they annoy to opt out of them. A tickybox set in the app for "Only notify me for: ..." would be ideal.
They're pointless, do not give me any information I did not already have, and interrupt my day. If they said "Received XXX from YYY" then they'd be useful (oh wait, you already have those, which make this contentless notifications redundant as well as awful).
Dear @monzo
Why do I keep having "Your money is waiting for you - open Monzo to get it now!" notifications -- I know where my money is, and I really don't appreciate these pointless "chummy" notifications drawing my attention away from my work.
They are surprisingly good. Yes if you put it too loud there's sometimes an odd buzzing against your temples, but several months into owning mine and I've basically stopped using other headphones, even around the house.
So long as it's not too magic, one problem I had with my small amount of go hacking was realising where things were and what was going on. The casewise pub/priv stuff was one of the things which really hurt my brain.
