If you turn on encrypted disk, it fills the disk with random so that it doesn't leak how much of the disk is in use

d'aww thank you :D Fortunately my employer @codethink is amazing about this kind of thing, though I had best go do my "real" work for a bit now :D

I had an excellent run this lunchtime and I might treat myself to something nice for dinner :D You're right that self-care and celebrating achievements is important too :D I've always called myself an 'enabler' -- tooling and support libraries is 'my bag' :D

The community is always really positive -- it's just been a marathon of a couple of days :-D

It would have been near-impossible to do this in the timeframe we had without the help of @pietroalbini and various others in the @rustlang org. Phew.
Okay, that's it. Rustup 1.20.2 is out, and if you lot find any more bugs, you can suffer with them for a few days[*]. My brain hurts. [* Or hours, I'm probably weak enough to give up my free time to fix more :D]

I apologise for the frustration. There'll be another tweak release later today too, but hopefully the fix it contains won't be affecting you. I tried to get the fix out as fast as I could, but I'm only human :D

For those who followed the @rustlang announcement of Rustup 1.20.0 with joy, only to have issues with non-tier-one platforms. Rustup 1.20.1 is out and hopefully will stomp those problems out for you.
Rustup 1.20.1 released this morning will force the initial toolchain install which should mitigate this issue for you. If you want more control then install with `--default-toolchain none` and then pick your profile, toolchain, and components more carefully afterwards.

Unfortunately it looks like those platforms lack the components in the default profile :( I'll see what I can do for you.

If you have time, please tune in to @jonhoo's amazing work. He has contributed to Rustup in the past and any project will be lucky to get his attention. His streams are well presented and there's always something to learn from for any level of viewer.
It's about time we do a 2nd open-source contribution stream, so this Saturday at 4PM UTC (everytimezone.com/s/163b1f5e) we'll yet again write & submit PRs to some OSS @rustlang projects! I want to focus on Rust tooling, so was thinking rustup and cargo, but suggestions are welcome!

Rustup will be pleased to receive contributions from you once again if you choose us; but also if you pick someone else then I'm sure they'll equally appreciate it.

I may not have a @rustfest ticket, but I'm booked to be in Barcelona, so if I can't find a way in, I'll just have to hack on Rustup and Sequoia in a bar :D If I owe you a beer and you're in Barcelona for Rustfest, prod me and we'll sync up.

Also, no small amount of thanks is due to my employer @codethink who allow me to do some community Rust stuff from time to time at work.
This work was supported, in part, by you guys helping me to review and test these features. Thanks all, now enjoy the goodness!
