I intend to write a blog post about the journey, once I have, I shall pass it on. Mostly it was chargers not responding to the app, the app losing connection and refusing to believe it was charging, the app thinking a free charger was in use, or chargers simply not working.
After a weekend of driving 600 miles in my @Hyundai Ioniq BEV, I can say that @ecotricity chargers were 3/7 broken, 2/7 on free-vend, and 1/7 just randomly didn't charge me (boggle). 2/3 of visits to @ChargemasterPlc Polar chargers failed too. Not the easy trip I had hoped for.
So I'm doing it in my @Hyundai Ioniq BEV which is lovely but at best can only manage about 110 on a rapid charge, which is all I can do if I expect to make the journey in a day.
And yes, I know if I were rich and what-have-you, I could have done that in a single hop with a Tesla of some kind, but I'm a normal human who can't afford that kind of car.
Tomorrow I undertake a scary journey for an electric car owner. 300 miles, with two separate 60-80 mile hops with only one chance of success at each end. Here's hoping @ecotricity have their CCS pumps working between Manchester and St Davids.
