I did AdventOfCode in Rust this year; and then wrote a bunch of test tool code in it :-) I like it.

Rust's schtick is that the compiler should enforce that safety rather than you having to hunt later to fix bugs.

Go doesn't help with a lot of the safety issues of C (I've had Go programs segfault aplenty). Rust needs more learning-curve fixes
