@BCSManchester @davepage_mcr How about a talk/tutorial day helping people understand and implement effective cryptography in their e-lives?

@davepage_mcr As a human being who has private thoughts and a sense of self which would end up violated, I worry about #snooperscharter.

@davepage_mcr I'd love to know how they intend to outlaw ideas and mathematics :-S

@rossburton Some of the 'Android Wear' items are hilarious. My Pebble Steel is chunky, but at least it kinda is meant to be.

@cawhitworth That seems fair enough. My issue is that it's hard to accept adverts when they detract so much from browsing.
Replying to @cawhitworth
@cawhitworth I mostly acquire such content through rss readers anyway, but I can appreciate that approach.

@idnorton @pwaring Git has "won" which means that not knowing Git is more of a barrier than using it IME. (I don't like it, but I do use it)

@idnorton @pwaring In general I find it no better overall and thus only worrying about git is easier for me. I know @rjek prefers bzr though

@pwaring bzr reached "usable" around a month before the first commit on git. It was a fight between the two for a while. Git won, but meh.

@jogbert Failure modes on SSDs in use are much more data-catastrophe than spinning rust tends to be. Exceptions granted :-)

@c_boyle I'd be more worried about leaving my phone on a desk, not looking at it, but close enough by that Bluetooth is connected.
