Replying to @catashton
@catashton @boltoncouncil Failing to set up DDs? Manchester council did that to me twice before they got it right. It's appalling.

@jogbert @rjek From a 'sysadmin' PoV I'd expect to have a single large repo which contained a bunch of stuff for something like puppet.

@jogbert Took me about 3 months to really wrap my head around it. Made myself give an "evil internals of git" talk to force it all in :-)

@jogbert I'd probably have gone with 3 repos if they need separating in terms of what goes where. If it were puppet, one repo would work.

@jogbert It's not terribly easy, but you *can* make a partial checkout of a tree. Needs a lot of scripty hackery though
Replying to @jogbert
@jogbert Not easily, no :-( Then again, partial SVN checkouts usually (to me) indicate a need to split repos anyway.

@mgdm I believe the chap in question has already apologised. He didn't want to keep it; but a userbase meant legacy support won over sanity.

@markhymers If you *really* want it, I'd be willing to part with my 20MHz HM203-6 and a few probes for not much if anything.

@jogbert Erk.. At least Lloyds require one PIN based txn before they'll unlock it. Then it's N txns (or M pounds) before it re-asks IIRC.
Replying to @jogbert
@jogbert Lloyds' contactless cards at least need PIN-based activation, so as long as I'm careful near such machines I'll be okay.

@cawhitworth Doesn't look that way to me. dnsutils depends on libbind and bind9-host|host, but not bind itself.
Replying to @Holsworth
@Holsworth It does 'denigrate the true nature' since it's not a stupid patriotic daftness with no concrete results. Knitting is much better!
