@pwaring It took me about three weeks to get used to Chrome. Found mental workarounds for the things I was relying on with Firefox.

@arafel2 iTunes doesn't separate the three out. I'm guessing that writing my own is the only solution, and that's nasty :-(

For those of you suggesting mpd -- it doesn't separate the three bits properly. Also it feels simplistic, is FS oriented, etc.
Are there any networked music players which separate library, playlist and playback such that they can be run on multiple machines?
