@pwaring I wrote an OpenID 1 consumer in a few hundred lines of Lua/C. I'm sure you can manage something in PHP (bwuahahaha)
@pwaring And then use that to identify the account to authenticate for. If the OpenID is unknown -- new account. Simples.
@pwaring You canonicalise the URL provided for the openid (case changes, providing the scheme, trailing slashes if needed etc)...
@jtopper Upstart is actually pretty good. Just learn to not think linearly :) Simtec Linux uses upstart and it saved our bacon.
@pwaring They're just different authentication methods. Password or OpenID -- both link to an "account" on your system.
