Literally 3 or 4 people could get together and pay to end global warming now.
What will it cost if we don’t?

Okay tweeps, can someone explain to me why we can't have a referendum in the same timeframe as we could a GE? (Modulo parliament fannying about rather than getting on with it)

Somehow I only know about 3 kinds... * DejaVu Sans * DejaVu Serif * DejaVu Sans Mono
There are 36 types of dΓ©jΓ  vu and 72 explanations for why it happens.

I mean, it was rowing I guess, but indoors on an erg. Heck though, why not be proud of watersports, even if it's not what @Strava is asking about?

This is Willo. She likes to awoo while she eats. Tonight’s meal was worthy of a gentler, but perhaps more meaningful, second awoo. 13/10

Having a well-written README forces me to clarify my ideas. Just this is already a big win. But then people can come in and discover what it is easily. I have lost count of the number of great projects that are ignored because they just lack a README.
<3 README-driven development. When starting any new project, start by writing the README with the motivation and high-level usage sections. This helps me clarify the goal and scope of the project upfront and makes it easy to open source. I encourage everyone to try it.

The studies for this look pretty suspect, though there is potentially some merit in considering how shock proteins might affect insulin levels.
Taking a hot bath for an hour burns as many calories as going for a half-hour walk.

A habit I'm starting to pick up: When you realize someone you disagreed with in the past was actually right, email them and let them know (even if the disagreement was months / years ago) Benefits: (1) It's nice for them to hear it (2) It makes the update stickier for you

It would have been near-impossible to do this in the timeframe we had without the help of @pietroalbini and various others in the @rustlang org. Phew.
Okay, that's it. Rustup 1.20.2 is out, and if you lot find any more bugs, you can suffer with them for a few days[*]. My brain hurts. [* Or hours, I'm probably weak enough to give up my free time to fix more :D]

For those who followed the @rustlang announcement of Rustup 1.20.0 with joy, only to have issues with non-tier-one platforms. Rustup 1.20.1 is out and hopefully will stomp those problems out for you.
If you have time, please tune in to @jonhoo's amazing work. He has contributed to Rustup in the past and any project will be lucky to get his attention. His streams are well presented and there's always something to learn from for any level of viewer.
It's about time we do a 2nd open-source contribution stream, so this Saturday at 4PM UTC (everytimezone.com/s/163b1f5e) we'll yet again write & submit PRs to some OSS @rustlang projects! I want to focus on Rust tooling, so was thinking rustup and cargo, but suggestions are welcome!

I may not have a @rustfest ticket, but I'm booked to be in Barcelona, so if I can't find a way in, I'll just have to hack on Rustup and Sequoia in a bar :D If I owe you a beer and you're in Barcelona for Rustfest, prod me and we'll sync up.

Also, no small amount of thanks is due to my employer @codethink who allow me to do some community Rust stuff from time to time at work.
This work was supported, in part, by you guys helping me to review and test these features. Thanks all, now enjoy the goodness!

This is a really good overview of what an async @rustlang runtime does, and also how the Tokio runtime works under the hood. Highly recommended if you want to grok the nitty-gritty of how Rust futures are executed.
Happy monday! The Tokio scheduler is getting 10x faster: tokio.rs/blog/2019-10-schedu… #rustlang
