Though the article's claim that the "entire neighborhood" is zoned for single-family homes is not quite right -- there's a substantial area of RMD just to the east.
(RMD and R-2 are almost the same -- duplex zoning -- except for different (MF/SF) comp plan designations.)

I'm waiting for the "how many ways can the zoning disagree with the comp plan in a single block" award.
(A year or two ago they did a single parcel rezoning of 2321 Wellesley from R-1 to RMD(NP), without changing the comp plan designation from SF to MF.)

At least that's illegal in RM-20/RM-30/RM-40 if it violates the minimum unit density (see codelibrary.amlegal.com/code… Table 2, including footnote 8). (This was from the 2018 Housing Work Plan ordinance, passed by council on 2019-04-01.)

Absolutely astonishing detail here: what got the FBI SWAT teams to Congress? Not the Capitol Police. It was a call from a private lawyer who used to work at DOJ, who in turn was responding to a call from a friend on McConnell's staff in the building.
