It feels a little odd not to mention that the parent company is a nonprofit. I think that leads to many of the differences described.

As a kid growing up on the west side of San Antonio, I never thought that I’d one day be making this announcement: julianforthefuture.com I’m exploring a candidacy for President of the United States in 2020 to renew the promise of this country for all. youtube.com/watch?v=j9EdmaN-…

No jump shots. No ferns. No memes. Not this time. I’m going to give it to you straight: If you need health insurance for 2019, the deadline to get covered is December 15. Go to HealthCare.gov today and pass this on — you just might save a life.

Er, except that needs adjusting for residents per housing unit, so 4-5 sounds reasonable, maybe even a tad high, for keeping up with population growth.
Based on 2010-2018 US population growth estimates from census.gov/popclock/, 7.3 per 1000.

This might be good time to reiterate why independent implementations, both at a high-level (e.g., browser) and low-level (e.g., text encodings) are valued and important to a healthy and thriving web platform. (And please do feel free to chime in and discuss.)

Really disappointed to hear about EdgeHTML getting the axe. Competition is a good thing, and loss of browser engine diversity is bad for all of us, no matter what browser we use.

BREAKING—as in breaking democracy: a truly shocking & naked power grab underway in Wisconsin. Dems won every statewide race this Nov. Now, the GOP unveiled sweeping bills to straightjacket the Gov & AG, stomp on early voting, & lock in power on state Sup Court. Votes THIS TUE. 1/

What happened when a white police officer tried to de-escalate an encounter with a black man holding a gun, rather than shoot him? The cop was fired. The man with the gun? Shot by other cops. The gun? It wasn't loaded. A shattering and monumental story: features.propublica.org/weir…

More 🚨🚨🚨. This month, Michigan voters overwhelmingly opted to give @JocelynBenson the authority to oversee elections--just as every Secretary of State has done in the past. On their way out the door, Republicans are attempting to strip her of that authority.
Awaiting the publishing online of a series of bills introduced by Senate Republicans involving elections and campaign finance. But one of the bills is a bombshell. It would move oversight of elections and campaign finance out of the secretary of state and to a new commission.

Just snow is easy. I'd like to see BART deal with the January 17, 1994 storm as it affected the western suburbs of Philadelphia: - 6-8 inches of powdery snow - temp to above 50°F for about an hour, turning snow into 2-3 inches slush - temp down to 10°F, turning the slush to ice
