NET NEUTRALITY IS NOW THE LAW IN CALIFORNIA!
Governor Brown just signed our #SB822, which contains the strongest #NetNeutrality protections in the nation. Huge win for an open internet. Thank you @JerryBrownGov!
Now: @JerryBrownGov's signature on #SB826, which mandates at least one woman on CA corporate boards, says he's willing to gamble on its legality -- in part, because of actions in Washington. Note he's sending it to US Senate Judiciary Cmte.
My dad liked to argue that electrical reliability was a sawtooth wave with a period of 5-10 years related to when PECO did tree trimming around the power lines.
Good that we have now established that Grassley will “refer[] for criminal investigation apparent false statements” made to the committee in conjunction with its effort to look into alleged misconduct by Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
What's the state of election security going into 2018 and 2020 elections? Mostly unchanged since 2016. We don't really know if anyone altered votes in 2016 and there's a good chance we won’t know if someone does it in next election. My piece for @NYTmagnyti.ms/2ORNFfq

As with Ted Cruz the other day, conservatives believe the key to turning out Republican voters is showing them pictures of politically engaged black people.
The 18% is the hypothetical worst set of senators; the numbers for the two sides today are that the Republican majority represents 44% of the people and the Democratic minority represents 56% of the people.
The actual numbers today (using 2017 census population numbers) are that the 49 Democrats & Independents in the Senate represent 363,971,955 people and the 51 Republicans represent 286,078,457 people.
(This adds to 2x population of US minus DC, since 2 senators per person.)
Nobody in politics honestly believes Sotomayor would have been confirmed if she'd appeared before the judiciary committee and spouted angry, barely coherent conspiratorial attacks Republicans.
That we're in a holding pattern on Kavanaugh after today says so, so much.
14/ I think an FBI investigator would say this party likely happened in the first week of July of 1982; included the people Dr. Ford cited; was unremarkable to all but three people; the two guilty parties lied repeatedly about their actions; and the alleged victim is credible.
