The experience of a new @Android phone is weird, even running the same OS version I was running, I think because having upgraded the old phone to that version meant I had a bunch of things configured the old way that I can't get back with a fresh install. Frustrating.

For example, can I get wifi calling with @projectfi back? Or get back the extra row of icons on my homescreen? It doesn't seem like it...

That said, I appreciate that there's now only a single OTA update to go from what the phone shipped with to the current security update (across an 8.0.0 to 8.1.0 upgrade, too). I wish the updater UI made that clear in advance, though.

Oh, yeah, and all those ringtones where I had finally built up a mental map of which sound meant what thing (and configured certain people to have certain ringtones)... yeah, you can't choose those ringtones anymore.

It says I'm not allowed to make calls in airplane mode (which is what I've used to force Wi-Fi calling). Didn't happen on my old phone.
