I went for a checkup at the eye doctor today. My vision is mostly the same. But I'm now old enough that she checked my close-up vision. Fortunately, my arms are still plenty long enough. No need for reading glasses anytime soon.

In this case, mostly the same means only an 0.25 diopter change for the least convergent meridian for my left eye, which means the prescribed lens for my left eye no longer has a cylindrical component. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correc… explains what this means.

I don't remember ever *not* having close up vision tested!

Maybe she tested it before and I forgot. I'm certainly plenty old enough to forget lots of things. 😐

For me, it was the last TPAC in Lyon that pushed me over the edge. By the third day, I finally had to use the glasses I'd been carrying around, to read my laptop screen.
