It's only a matter of time till TSA makes this the general case, I'm afraid. Europe+MiddleEast is probably a huge proportion of US flights.

Most US flights are domestic. I'd still guess North America international (Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, etc) is comparable to Europe/MidEast.
