I've cooked close to 100 recipes from Mark Bittman's indispensable "How to Cook Everything". In my house we just call it "The Big Red Book".

I use it but haven't cooked nearly that many recipes from it. I probably use his “Fish” book more.

How much overlap is there between The Big Red Book and The Big Green Book?

Seems to vary a lot by section, e.g., eggs section seems pretty similar, beans section much expanded.
