Thank you for this demo and also for the directions to try it in Chrome Canary. I’m really excited for this!
I hope the div.btn in the demo highlights a priority need to specify keyboard activation.
Perhaps we can resurrect parts of the original toggle?

On second glance, it seems like Canary is not treating a ‘click’ as an activation, which I suspect is either in conflict with the specification or in conflict with the polyfill.
