Yes, the US has its health neuroses around lifestyle and diet. But most of the US graph's plunge is COVID-19. And we had ~1m deaths, while China ludicrously claims something on the order of tens of thousands. No one should take a comparison grounded in cooked books seriously.

Lack of access to health care is also a big problem in the US. My impression is that the rural health system in China is not great, but it seems believable that it's more effective health care than what the uninsured get in the US.
