I have a question for people who live outside the US……………. how many spam phone calls are you getting daily, on average 👀 …….. this isn’t just us, right?

By the looks of the comments, several times a day. I think in the US you get charged for incoming calls / texts as well as outgoing, so I'm interested to know if they get charged for the spam calls too.

First part correct, second part not correct. I’m not sure if you could even get a phone plan with such a model here.

Back when most cellphone plans charged for phone minutes, that was true. (In the US you can't tell if the number you're calling is a cell by looking at the digits, so caller couldn't pay.) Now it's mostly unlimited calls/texts and charging for data usage (or tiers of usage).

Oops, "that" meant that we paid for incoming calls and texts just like outgoing.

Well, that's good! I first noticed it on the TV show Maid, she'd run out of minutes and couldn't receive an incoming call. Asked a few American folk about it and they said it was true. But it looks like that's no longer the case! Because that's absolutely nuts.
