North Carolina is planning to prevent cities from installing charging stations -- EVEN IF THE CHARGING STATIONS COST MONEY TO USE -- unless they also give gasoline away FOR FREE.

At least the law doesn't specify how many mL/hour the pump needs to provide. (at least not in the screenshot)

I love the prospect of the eminently defensible approach of delivering gas at the same rate as electricty: 40 kW charger? Deliver gas at 40 kWh per hour. That's about 1.2 gallons an hour, or roughly 6 tablespoons a minute.

Also, when you deliver gas at that rate, how much do you lose to evaporation?

Keeping in mind that the political bent of cities doesn't vary that much across the nation, you should spend more time in red counties for some perspective. This kind of action is gleefully celebrated in rural areas *because* of the damage to health and happiness of urbanites.
