School districts in the DMV – perhaps consider emailing parents re: the weather threat for tomorrow morning. 40-60 mph wind gusts/thunder/lightning probable while kiddos are at the bus stop or en route to school. Parents – please make sure the young'ns are all set/safe.

Why isn't this threat mentioned in the NWS forecast?

All forecast.weather.gov/MapClic… says about wind for tomorrow is "East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon."

The "except higher amounts in thunderstorms" includes wind, but I certainly agree that NWS website doesn't always excel in communication ease.
