Even during the height of the pandemic pre vaccines, drowning was about 10Xs more likely to kill children than covid. Where is the energy for tackling the actual leading killers of children?

We’re sorta not doing much to teach kids in a city like Cleveland to swim. Because denying kids things is easier than providing things I guess idk

Is not teaching kids to swim the main problem, or are most of the drowning deaths infants or toddlers in things like bathtubs?

It's not my area of expertise at all. I think a lot of it is kids wandering into pools in places like Phoenix. But in the Netherlands I believe they significantly reduced child drownings with swim lessons.

Learning to swim is sorta essential one way or the other IMO. An essential life skill.
