wondering how this interacts with other countries' vax requirements, since "vax + boosted" is now becoming the norm policy-wise, and not everyone distinguishes between mRNA and otherwise for this

On the other hand, CDC not allowing all JnJers 3 shots shows that they are still enslaved to the prepandemic rule of two studies with p < 0.05. That is, an alarm that the barn door is open isn't enough. At CDC you have to wait until the horses leave before closing it.

honestly a LOT of my worry about vax requirement policies has been that everyone is going to build them to be consistent with local vax administration policies and folks from elsewhere will be left high and dry

you even saw some of this between US *states*, where each state built its own vaccine proof thingy and sometimes people were barred from doing things because their state's thingy isn't recognized elsewhere

as a repatriate i've experienced tons of "slipping through the cracks" like this so this is kinda always first on my mind "is your policy robust about how it deals with categories of people you did not think of?"

in my experience, governments are absolutely terrible at getting this right and it's super frustrating

Reminds me of having to register my Oyster Card with an address something like "..., San Francisco, California SE1 0HS, United States" They were very strict about the UK postcode validation.
