Maybe flickr.com/photos/dbaron/alb… is also a good answer for the "why". (Day 2, with all the photos of the mountain peaks poking above the clouds, was the highlight.)
(I was actually expecting my 5-day Yosemite hike to be longer, but it wasn't.)
