Many of those places haven't had snow since February 5, 1976. (Not that they'll necessarily get any next week...)

There was snow in the foothills down to ~800 ft in the early 90’s. And apparently in 2019.

From Palo Alto or Mountain View, I remember seeing snowcaps visible on the hills to the east quite a few times, and once (I think December 7, 2009) on the hills to the west.

1932 historic snow event. SFO CBD covered by snow. Down to sea level some snow mixed with rain .
1887 historic snow event. Snow fell during the night up to sea level and on the pacific beaches although it quickly melt there (but it was last snow cover for some beach areas).
