In Europe they don't mask young kids. The WHO doesn't recommend it. The CDC does. And this is the issue we decided to have an all out ideological war over? Reasonable people can (and do) disagree about the benefits of masking young kids!

Masking kids >5 is pretty much exclusive to the US. All my friends in Australia are shocked that masks are required for 2-year-olds here. Only kids over 12 have to mask there. Still have never heard the CDC explain why they chose 2 for masking guidelines.

Seems like China is more extreme than the US; Chinese relatives were unhappy we weren't masking our 1 year old (12 months old at the time).

That’s intense! I’ve tried to put a mask on my 1.5-year-old a few times, and he immediately rips it off. Is that the law in China, or do your relatives just have big “put a coat on that baby!” energy?

I don't know about law, but it does sound like it's the norm.
