Cool. Digital key copier scans your key, figures out which blank to use, cuts and deburrs the copy, and even upsells you to the purple polka dot option. $3 for standard key. No waiting for Home Depot staff. Takes about 2 minutes per key.

I tried this with a somewhat less common blank that it doesn't have on hand. It prompted me for a mailing address, and mailed me copy of my key. This is a vast improvement over Home Depot's "we don't stock this blank and can't order it; go find a locksmith."

I feel like getting keys duplicated is one of the times I don't want a mailing address or other identifying information associated with the purchase.

For a house key, yeah, I鈥檇 be a bit more skeptical. This wasn鈥檛 that, though.
