So expand SCOTUS to 13 (counting the 11 numbered circuits, the DC Circuit, and the Federal Circuit)... and then abolish the Federal Circuit?
Pelosi being pretty explicit about judicial reform is on the table on Hayes right now, observing the original understanding that the number of Supreme Court justices should track the number or circuits

Maybe split the 9th Circuit at the same time as abolishing the Federal Circuit to maintain the principle? Maybe California+Hawaii (San Francisco) vs. all the rest (Seattle)? Or should Arizona and maybe Nevada stick with California?

CA is so big that you could just do CA/ everything else. Geographically CA/AZ/NV vs the rest would make sense (AK, HI, GU, MP, WA, OR, ID, MT). Court already sits in Anchorage, Seattle, Honolulu & Portland.

Yeah, it is big enough, but a circuit with just one state seems weird. Maybe stick to my original California + Hawaii?

DC Cir is just one.

DC is special, though. Also not a state. Though that does remind me of harvardlawreview.org/2020/01… ...
