Watching ABAG Executive Board President and Berkeley Mayor @JesseArreguin try to explain why our region's paltry housing target is actually sufficient was a sight to behold. I'd love to live in his world where most cities treat their RHNA allocation as a floor, not a ceiling.

I've heard electeds in Palo Alto suggest we're building too much market-rate housing because we are on track to fulfill our above-market RNHA goals (which were MUCH lower than our actual need).

Also it doesn't seem like it's OK that the only way Palo Alto hit the half-cycle goal for its above-moderate-income RHNA target was by counting everything market-rate as affordable only to those with above-moderate incomes. If it's true, it's not good.
