#AB2690 from Silicon Valley assemblymember @Evan_Low would allow cities and counties to apply Rent Control laws to mobile home parks (common in Silicon Valley) built on or after 1990. Currently only pre-1990 mobile home parks can be rent controlled. 10/

Imperial Valley / Coachella Valley @AsmEGarciaAD56's #AB2778 allows larger Polanco communities (nonprofit farmworker housing) in agricultural zones. Current limit is 12 homes or 36 beds, this bill would allow up to 50 homes or 36 beds. 11/

Polancos are named after Assemblymember Richard Polanco, who wrote a 1992 farmworker housing bill. Although few farmers used it to house their employees, farmworkers came up with a way to use the bill themselves to establish communities. 12/

#AB2782 from Monterey Bay @AsmMarkStone is another mobile home protection bill. Requires 60 days notice, govt approval, relocation plan/payments when a mobile home park is closed. Also requires impact mitigation to subdivide a MH park or floating home marina. 13/

San Mateo County assemblymember @kevinmullin has #AB2852 which would allow school districts to build housing on their land and offer it to employees of other districts or government agencies in addition to their own. 14/

Last year's #AB1482 capped rent increases to a maximum annual rent increase of 5% plus inflation, or 10%, whichever is lower, but it didn't apply to mobile homes. Southern California assemblymember @QuirkSilva65th's #AB2895 extends the rent cap to cover mobile homes. 15/

#AB2988 from Bay Area assemblymembers @KansenChu and @DavidChiu allows more Permanent Supportive Housing in places zoned for emergency shelters in unincorporated areas & small cities. Max size of such a PSH project increases from 50 to 120 homes. 16/

The state requires cities to zone for new homes, using the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (#RHNA) process. #AB3040 from @DavidChiu encourages cities to rezone single family houses to allow duplexes/triplexes/fourplexes, by allowing it to count towards meeting RHNA goals. 17/
