So I thought @amazon used to have UI to tell them that an order marked as delivered ("left at mailbox") wasn't actually delivered. Now I can't find any such UI and the help content basically says "contact USPS". Is the assumption now that I just pay for the thing again?

I mean, it's not a big deal for me to just buy more soap since the first container of soap went missing, but it's also not really how I thought Amazon's e-commerce model worked.

Amazon: +1-888-280-4331. they make it a little hard to get a hold of them, but if you call in and complain and this hasn’t happened seven or eight times, they’ll just replace it.

No idea where you found that phone number (it's sure not easy to find on their site), but I'll have a try in the morning...

I just googled “amazon phone number.” I’ve used it many times

Well, except Amazon's phone number literally has a message that says they're not providing any phone support now.

So the only working mechanism now seems to be the online chat, which starts with a bot (and could probably finish with a bot if I wanted it resent rather than refunded, since I'd already bought it again). And the way I found the online chat: google search "Amazon phone number".
