Our party needs a killer with a proven record of winning to serve as DNC Chairman. Someone like @JamesCarville. In fact, it should be James himself. Or @PaulBegala. Or @davidplouffe. Or @RahmEmanuel. [@SpeakerPelosi is already exactly where we need her.] vox.com/policy-and-politics/…

I knew I’d be @ for only naming white men. Either I’m a white caveman — or maybe, just maybe, I listed people who led winning presidential campaigns. Because in the last 100+ years only one Democrat has beaten a sitting Republican president: Clinton 1992. Winning is what matters

Replying to @PhilippeReines
1976 Carter defeated Ford (though Ford wasn't elected) 1932 FDR defeated Hoover and depending on the "+" in 100+, 1912 Wilson defeated Taft and TR (3-way election, though)

I should have been clearer about Carter in my point.

Also the only incumbent Democratic President that Republicans have defeated in the last hundred years is Carter. Incumbents usually win!

Philippe couldn't find Michigan and Wisconsin in 2016 so you can't expect him to know much history
