This website makes me reconsider the entire assumption from responsive web design that a web page would never overflow in the inline direction (aka, never scroll side-to-side). designresearch.space/#/ Look how beautiful it is with overflow to the left. And easy to scroll.

The constraint that still needs to be satisfied is that the user shouldn't need to scroll in the inline direction for *each line of text*. A particular block of text should be readable with block-direction scrolling only.
