This is brilliant! We should all “rent” street parking spaces to demonstrate how real estate for cars is subsidized versus real estate for people. $2.75/hr = ~$2k/mo, which is cheaper than renting an apartment in SF.
I have set up at 16th and Market and paid the meter a reasonable $2.75 for one hour.

This is also why you see many people living in camper vans in Mountain View, e.g. along Shoreline Blvd or Crisanto Ave.
