When my screen reader reads this tweet, it repeats "black right pointing small triangle" more than 50 times. Emoji/icons are perfectly ok, but like a good after-dinner brandy, they're better in moderation and served at the end... nitter.vloup.ch/slavin_fpo/statu…

That’s weird. There aren’t any black right-pointing small triangles in the quoted tweet; your screen reader should be saying “full block” 60 times (which would, of course, also be annoying, if somewhat less verbose).

Interesting. I wonder if it's a client/platform/screen reader thing? Jaws reads the same (right pointing small triangle" in my Twitter client, and when I cut/paste into a text editor. NVDA ignores them completely, and Narrator doesn't like my Twitter client at all.

For what it's worth, the characters were all U+2588(FULL BLOCK).

Thanks. It seems that Jaws interprets that particular character incorrectly. I'm still not sure I'd have understood it was intended to represent redacted text, but at least it would have taken about half the time to get to the end of the tweet!
